Children learn at their own speed, and each child is different. However, if you are concerned about your child's speech or language skills, it is the right time to get an evaluation. It is important to get help as early as possible, as research shows that early intervention is crucial. Contact us to schedule a free 15-minute consultation, and we can answer your questions and discuss your concerns.
Speech is how we say sounds and words. Speech includes articulation, voice, and fluency.
Language refers to the words we use to communicate (expressive language) and understand (receptive language), and how we use words to share our thoughts, wants, and needs. We use language to speak, write, read, and understand. Language also includes communicating through gestures (body language or sign language) and Alternative Augmentative Communication (e.g., signs/gestures, picture symbols, speech generating device).
Always Growing Speech & Language Therapy is a private pay practice. Full payment is required at the time of service. We accept payment via cash, debit, or credit card. Clients may also be able to use a Health Savings Account or Flex Spending Account. We do not accept insurance and are considered to be an “out-of-network” provider.
We can provide you with a superbill, upon request, if you would like to seek out reimbursement from your insurance company for our services. A superbill is a document that includes client and provider information and details of treatment provided. You can submit this to your insurance company to seek reimbursement for some or all of the cost of services. *It is important to contact your insurance company prior to services to verify if you can be reimbursed for out-of-network services, as not all insurances or plans reimburse for out-of-network services.
There are many benefits to private pay therapy:
No referral needed for evaluation or therapy
Individualized services- can be customized to your child's needs
Flexibility- you get to decide when and where sessions take place, no limits on the number of sessions your child can receive
Child-led therapy is all about following a child's lead and interests, instead of planning sessions with a therapist-directed agenda. This means finding activities that are motivating, engaging, and meaningful to the child. This also improves the relationship between child and therapist, as it helps to establish trust and connection.
Child-led therapy is beneficial because in helps promote nervous system regulation, allows for authentic connection, is intrinsically motivating, encourages expression of emotions, eliminates power imbalances, and increases generalization to daily life.
